Welcome to our homestay!

If you choose our homestay, we not only invite you into our home but into our family as well. We consider ourselves your "American Mom and Dad." We truly love and care for all of our homestay students.

We have had international students in our home for most of our 36 years of marriage. We have two adult children plus a son-in-law. They both live close to us. Our family loves to travel and has been all over the world to places such as Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Hungary, England, Italy, New Zealand, Israel, China, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Switzerland, and Nepal.

Wes is a pastor at a local church and is a police chaplain. He has his own non-profit, which exists to support law enforcement and their families. Aimee is a certified health coach. Both Wes and Aimee work part-time at Chick-fil-A.

We like to exercise and discover new hiking trails in San Diego. We have a gym two miles away that costs about $20 a month. We love kayaking and enjoy the ocean and San Diego Bay with our kayaks.

We do not have any pets, nor do we allow any of our guests to bring pets, even though we know they are part of your family.

Our 5-bedroom 3-bath large house has plenty of space for multiple homestay guests. In the summer months, we enjoy hanging out in our back patio and eating outside. We have a barbecue grill. Our home feels like you're in the countryside, yet we are just one mile from the freeway. We are within walking distance of Bonita. Our spacious home was recently remodeled, so all of the carpet and paint is new.

We tell all of our homestay guests "Mi Casa Es Su Casa" which means in Spanish, my home is your home, so make yourself comfortable. The kitchen is open to having you cook for yourself, we have an extra refrigerator/freezer in the garage for our homestay guests, and the laundry facilities are available anytime. Included in your rent are internet, amenities such as unlimited water bottles, laundry soap/dryer sheets, all sizes of Ziploc bags, paper towels/toilet paper, propane for the grill, and a fire table.

Every room is private with a queen-sized bed, desk, large closet, nightstands with lamps, and a dresser. All homestay guests share a bathroom with one other homestay guest/room.

You will find citrus trees scattered around our backyard - oranges, lemons, and limes. We are growing avocado trees and berries such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and boysenberries. I have a Tower Garden where I grow herbs, lettuces, tomatoes, and various leafy greens. I have two blenders, an Instant Pot, a large air fryer and a juicer.

We have lots of free parking and encourage students to rent a car while staying in San Diego. However, we do have public transportation that is within walking distance from our house (a 10-minute walk to the bus that takes you to the trolley into Downtown San Deigo, La Jolla, Mission Valley, etc.).

Abdullah (Saudi Arabia) - Where to start. Wes and Aimee are just simply Amazing. They are very welcoming and helpful in whatever situation you are in. They are easygoing and very understanding. During my stay, they always made me feel like I was a part of the family and not just a "guest". They took us on a Thanksgiving vacation where we enjoyed a few days together, played a lot of games, and ate some amazing food. They always invited me to their family activities and took me as a part of the family. Also, one of the best things about living with them is that whenever you see or interact with them, they always approach you with a smile! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to be in a home away from home. I genuinely believe that they are the best you can find here or on any other website!

Joy (United States) - Aimee and Wes’s was truly a home away from home! The location is great and very safe, the home is quiet, and the room is very comfortable. I loved getting to know their sweet family while I was there and will hopefully return to visit in the future!
